Attempts have been made to manage the spread of Ebola in Kibaale District South Western Uganda, although vigilance is still needed. Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) has shifted its focus from Kagadi District Hospital to the 66 health units in Kibaale District that could potentially receive Ebola cases from the community. With support from the Accordia Global Health Foundation in the US, IDI has been able to raise $25,000 from Merck and $5000 from Pfizer to help procure additional protective clothing for health workers across the district as well as provide meals for critical staff. IDI continues to work with Kibaale District to distribute additional protective clothing and provide training to frontline staff.
