• ARVs are a lifelong treatment, therefore one must be committed to taking the right drugs, the right doses , at the right time each and every day
  • It is important to take all of the medications in your regimen each and every day
  • Have a vision for the future
  • Take your medicines at the same time everyday
  • Use a cell phone, to help remind you to take medications
  • Have a treatment buddy/supporter that you have disclosed to who supports you to take your medicines
  • Get in the habit of taking your medications with an activity you do daily 
  • Discuss side effects with your service provider
  • Follow all instructions given to you by your service provider ( taking drugs with or without food)
  • Talking to peers who are experienced in taking medicines
  • Keep a back-up supply in a handbag, backpack, or at work, in case you forget your pills
  • It is a good habit to bring your pill bottles whenever you go to visit your service provider.
  • Inform your service provider of any co-current medications or herbal products that you may be taking 
  • Your healthcare provider is the best source of information for questions and concerns related to your medical problem.
